Fine Art Photography – Symbols
The first and most important thing in the field of fine art photography is creativity. Nobody wants to see the same washed up pictures all over again no matter how good the photograph is technically. So if you’re not a creative person don’t expect to make a living out of fine art photography. You can draw inspiration from anything. I personally like using symbols, like in my picture The Chains of Manhood. In this picture I replaced the male penis with a chain thus symbolizing the laws and restrictions of being a man in our society. The model is wearing brown tailored pants, which symbolize a business man, and the hands holding the chain are quite muscular and veiny. All of these symbols create a powerful concept.
